Background and Education
Dr. Caroline Carberry is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based and culturally responsive treatment for children, adolescents, and families. She graduated magna cum laude from Rice University and earned her Ph.D. in combined Clinical-School Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her clinical internship at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins Medical School, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Autism at NYU Child Study Center. Dr. Caroline has worked in hospital, school, community, and specialty clinic settings.

Dr. Caroline provides therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, with a focus on anxiety, mood, and behavioral concerns, as well as supporting neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan.

Autism and Other Neurodiversity
Dr. Caroline has a longstanding passion for working with autistic individuals. She works within a neuroaffirming paradigm to help clients and families understand their neurodivergence and to explore how their neurotype affects other clinical issues, such as emotion and behavior dysregulation, anxiety, and mood disorders. She also works with parents using tailored interventions such as RUBI (a parent training program for autistic children with disruptive behaviors).
Anxiety, OCD, and Mood Disorders
She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to treat anxiety, OCD, depression, and emotional regulation challenges.
Disruptive Behavior and Social Challenges
Dr. Caroline is trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Parent Management Training (PMT) and uses both to improve disruptive behavior. She also applies Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and school-based consultation to help children and adolescents manage behavioral and social difficulties.
Tics and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs)
Dr. Caroline is trained in Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) and offers evidence-based treatment for Tourette’s, tics, trichotillomania, and excoriation disorder.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Caroline has published academic papers on autism and presented her research at both conferences and community events. She is committed to integrating the latest research findings into her therapeutic practice.

Dr. Caroline works with adult clients to treat behavioral, emotional, and social concerns using evidence-based methods. She provides compassionate, affirming therapy that addresses both daily challenges and broader clinical and life goals.
Parent Coaching and Family Support
She provides parent coaching using PMT, RUBI, and PCIT-informed approaches, offering families practical strategies to manage disruptive behaviors and anxiety while strengthening relationships.
School Consultation and Collaboration
Dr. Caroline partners with educators to provide school-based consultation, ensuring children receive consistent support across home and classroom settings.
Neurodevelopmental Assessment of Toddlers and Young Children
Dr. Caroline provides thorough, strengths-based assessment of development of cognitive, language, motor, and social-emotional skills.
