Parents of toddlers have all been there: the shoes are on the wrong feet, the toast is cut the “wrong” way, and suddenly a meltdown is in full swing. If you’re struggling to hold your boundaries while your toddler is tantruming, you aren’t alone. How do such big emotions come out of such tiny bodies? And how can parents help kids handle their big emotions while keeping calm themselves?

Maddy Clark, LCSW, of Small Brooklyn Psychology, addressed all of the above during this webinar. She also touched on:

  • Why toddlers’ brains literally can’t control their impulses (yet!)
  • Concrete scripts for biting, hitting, and tantrums
  • Strategies for how to stay calm when you’re being triggered

This webinar helped its viewers understand the toddler years (and not just survive them!). Maddy ended with a live Q&A, moderated by Dr. Mandi White-Ajmani, with questions from participants.

This webinar was conducted in partnership with Park Slope Parents, our wonderful local resource for parent support in Brooklyn. The recording for this webinar is available for free to PSP members and for $25 to non-members. Email events@parkslopeparents.com for access.
